We engaged Scott casually to start the home buying process really not sure if we would actually move forward with a purchase. As first time buyers, Scott went at our pace and did an amazing job providing information for us to help us understand that this truly could become a reality. He understood the magnitude of a first time home purchase for us and worked with us to understand our needs/wants/nice to have requests/etc. We knew that we wanted to purchase in the east bay and his having lived there all his life, he served as a great resource, introducing us to neighborhoods and areas we had never heard of. Scott is an amazing listener and extremely patient - he had to navigate 2 schools of thought from us, the romantic dreamer (me!) and the realist (my husband) and somehow, some way met us in the middle. Scott showed us a variety of locations listening to both of our needs. He was even patient enough to research the options I would find online and knowing the market, our budget, and potential issues would be completely honest with us - that this wasn't "the one". He never rushed us and was always responsive on the numerous texts, emails and calls and did a great job of explaining all the nuances of everything that is involved with buying a home and with us every step of the way. He also is extremely well connected and put us in touch with great people such as loan officers, architects, etc. Scott's countless hours of research paid off when he found us our current home in Nobe. His knowledge of design and architecture as well as constructability served useful since we bought a fixer upper. He found us a diamond in the rough craftsman bungalow that we would have ignored had we done an online search on our own or used another realtor. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Scott is a very good person and takes great passion and pride in his work and it shows. He still checks in on us and we closed 2 months ago. I can't say enough good things about him!

– Aly Ebzery

Scott is a great person to work with on every level. This was my first time buying a house and I knew nothing and had a ton of questions. Scott had an answer to every question I asked. He is patient, he explains well and fully, and he is very responsive. Scott walked me through the process leading up to and through the purchase attentively and with a lot of encouragement, it was a pretty stressful thing with a few bumps, but he communicated with me and helped me understand what was happening and how it was going to be resolved. On top of that Scott is a great person. He fun to talk to, relatable, and easy to work with! I could not imagine a better experience. I hope you're lucky enough to work with him!

– Benjamin Louis Thompson

Scott was amazing in helping us with the sale of our house. He was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process from our initial phone call to the close of escrow, guiding us through every step along the way. Scott’s eye for design and creative marketing got us a price well above asking. He had excellent recommendations for a stager, photographer, and videographer. The final marketing materials: a website and pamphlet showed off the house to prospective buyers with its key features. The entire process from the first day on the market to the close of escrow was quick, easy and completed in only little over a month. Scott is an experienced, professional, charismatic realtor who puts his all into helping his clients. We will use him again in the future and will always recommend him to anyone selling or buying a home.

– Megan Carter

Thank you Scott; ours was a smooth transaction. We did appreciate your knowledge and expertise and most of all, we did get the outcome that we desired with the sale of our house. We would not hesitate to use you for any further real estate needs.

– Erich horat

We hired Scott to handle the sale of our condo in Berkeley after remembering meeting him at one of his open houses a couple years ago when we were house hunting originally. He was super warm and friendly, and he stood out in our minds as a great listing agent. It was our first time selling, and we had a lot of questions that Scott answered at every step of the way with patience and expertise. We liked that he brought enthusiasm to the process, and he's well experienced with the Berkeley market. I would definitely recommend Scott to anyone looking to buy or sell their home in the East Bay. We had a great experience working with him.

– Martina DAlessandro

My wife and I recently worked with Scott selling our condominium in Berkeley. He was extremely easy to work with, knows the market, and made the process as stress free as possible. He put together a time line and everything went according to his plan. He was always available to talk and answered texts and emails promptly. We found him to be very thorough; reading through everything (and there is a lot with a condo), and making sure that we were all doting our i's and crossing our t's. He has a warm demeanor and an eye for detail, he even added some some very nice touches to the staging from his personal collection. Because of his marketing we got a large amount of foot traffic through our place for the open houses. And this resulted in multiple offers over our asking price. We sold our home, and could not be happier with the service we received from Scott.

– Daniel Korn

Scott handled the sale of our daughters home in Oakland this past year. He also helped us find it originally about 3 or 4 years ago. Everything about Scott is professional but he also can be very down to earth on helping his client through the process f buying or selling a home. He takes care of all the details that you would never think of as the owner and presents your home to clients in the best possible scenario. We truly appreciate his attention to the details prompt response to anything we needed. I would recommend Scott to anyone as a realtor you would like handling the process of buying or selling a home.

– Henry George Andel

Scott was great in helping me find a great rental property and taking me through the buying process. He also took extra time to share his expertise in renting properties, which was extremely valuable to me, as a first time landlord. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, knowledgable and diligent realtor, who is willing to take the time and skill to get the best deal for his clients.

– Penny Leyton

Scott stuck with me through the arduous process of finding a home. Since it was just me, we had to think creatively about finding the best place for a single buyer. Hard work paid off with my getting into one of the best neighborhoods in Oakland. His relationships with many people in the real-estate business benefited me as well.

One word to describe working with Scott.... AWESOME! He is very professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to buy in the Bay Area.

– Kathryn Autin

Scott was professional, trustworthy and helped us through the process of finding a home in the Bay Area. Very appreciative of his guidance and support.

– Ronald Rael

Scott is a wonderful realtor and person. He helped me buy my first home, and I could not have been more pleased with his work. His knowledge of the market and general expertise made for a straightforward and pleasant experience. Scott got me a great deal on my house, and I learned a lot from him as well. Particularly as a first time home buyer, Scott's guidance was essential throughout the whole process. I can't recommend Scott enough.

– Sara Durham

Scott is knowledgeable, resourceful, well-connected and honest. If you are in the market for a home in the East Bay and want an agent with local roots, an intimate knowledge of various neighborhoods and a genuine passion for architecture and design, look no further than Scott.

– Neil Chhabra

Scott did a superb job in helping us to understand the local market which is far different than any other location where we have purchased a home. He was well aware of not only what was on the market but of properties that were coming onto the market. We got an early look at several properties and we ended up purchasing one of these properties. We will certainly use Scott for any future purchases in this market.

– Jim Scinta

Scott was exemplary in the handling of the sale of our rental property in Berkeley. All his recommendations for preparing the property for sale were excellent. Not only that, he had contacts for everything that was needed and we didn't have to find anyone to perform the work. He knew who to hire for all the inspections we required. He handled everything and took care of arranging everything. All we had to do was write the check. He handled everything else. Scott was there by our side during the entire process and met with us personally whenever it was necessary. He was accessible by phone, texts and emails and his responses were always immediate. He handled and was present for all the open houses. Because of his experience, he has a good feel for what the market is like and how to understand how to respond once the offers began to come in. Because of that we received a substantially better offer then we otherwise might have. He knows when to move and what to do and was "on it" every moment. Scott is a great guy as well as a great agent.

– M. Ford

Scott was amazing in his work for us in connection with selling our house in Oakland. Our house (which was a prefab, LEED platinum, net-zero house) was completely unique to the area (and really in any area). Scott was able to market the house, draw incredible interest and develop a pricing strategy that allowed us to sell our house for significantly above the asking price and what we even imagined selling it for. From the beginning, Scott saw the value in the house, its modern features, its "green" attributes, and the neighborhood in which it was located. We have been so grateful to Scott for his insight and hard work in representing us.

– Michelle Jewett

Scott is simply fantastic to work with. In a daunting Bay Area real estate market he was able to find us the impossible — a charming duplex with room for improvement in a stellar neighborhood. Beyond his ability to find unicorn listings, he is an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly agent. Being our first house and first remodel, his depth of knowledge and large professional network of service providers and contractors was immensely helpful.

– Kyle Schoenberger

Scott is an efficient and compassionate agent. He listens, and understands your needs and desires, and go on a quest for you, thus helping you find your dream home. I highly recommend Scott!!

For generations, the Leverette's have provided client care and strategy to Bay Area home owners, families and real estate investors. We come from a long line of real estate professionals, and I have to give serious props to Scott Leverette for inheriting the finest thoroughbred real estate chops! There is no other agent that I would recommend more. I am not biased. - Mark Leverette

– Mark Leverette

Scott has represented us in the purchase/sale of several single and multi family residences over the past 6 years. He has excellent knowledge of the market and his advice has always been spot on. Scott is always responsive and communicative. We will continue to use Scott in our future transactions.

– David Durham

Scott was amazing with our first home purchase. We bought our home in Oakland from out of state (Washington). There's no way we could have done it without having Scott's expertise on home conditions, neighborhoods and remodeling ideas. Also, Scott is a fantastic guy to have a beer with even years after the paperwork has all been signed. Thanks, Scott!

– Hogarth de la Plante

Working with Scott was a pleasure from start to finish, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to family and friends. Unfortunately for Scott, I was a very unfocused homebuyer. My search area included multiple cities in two counties, so I didn't really provide him with a lot of direction. But Scott was extremely patient, and never had trouble finding me plenty of appropriate listings. My primary search area was Oakland, which can be a tricky city to navigate when buying a home, as the neighborhoods change every few blocks. Fortunately for me, Scott has an almost encyclopedic understanding of Oakland's many neighborhoods, as well as most of Alameda County as a whole. Having done a lot of work on his own home over the years, Scott is also a great resource when it comes to noticing potential problem areas in each home. He checked the electrical, foundation, or roof and gave me his opinion on what work might need to be done and when, and how much it might cost. This information can generally be found in the disclosures, but it's impossible to read through the disclosures of every home you see and I found it very helpful to have his insight while doing a initial walkthrough of the home. And when I ended up purchasing a home that needed some work, Scott was able to provide a number of contacts that were already vetted for dependability, quality of work, and price. Scott is professional, dependable, and very knowledgeable. He clearly loves his work and it showed in our day-to-day interactions. He has been working in the area for years and has great relationships within the industry, something that never hurts in a competitive market like the Bay Area. All that and he's a heck of a nice guy too! When I find myself looking for a house again, Scott will be my first and only call.

– Peter Callaway

3/1/2016 Scott did a really good job showing me houses to develop. I spent about 5 month shopping for a home in the Bay Area and we looked at every fixer that came on the market. At the end of the day we landed a house in North Oakland. Scott also referred us to a designer that is amazing with permits and Zoning, she was able to get us everything we've needed to get through planning to ad an addition, in-law and detached garages to the property. I'm looking forward to buying more homes in the Bay Area and I'll be doing business with Scott again in the future.

– Nick Benson

5.0 star rating 6/7/2015 We have used Scott to both purchase and sell a home and he is truly a gem. Scott is an expert in the Berkeley and Oakland area- his knowledge of the neighborhoods, pricing structure and housing styles in second to none. We most recently sold our home with him as the listing agent and he was amazing. He was able to provide guidance and reassurance throughout every step of the process. He has developed great working relationships with other realtors and contractors in the area who respect him- and it showed. The best thing he did for us was to create a google calendar with the entire process (listing day, contractors coming in, etc) scheduled out so that we could all see it. Scott made the process of getting our home ready to go on the market easy and enjoyable.

– Dr. Pam Orren & Shawn Clarke

Dear buyer: This past year, my husband and I were in the market for a new home, searching both in the Oakland Hills and Marin County. While we were not first-time home buyers, we were new to buying in Northern California and had many questions. Scott and Marlene Leverette spent lots of time with us during the process and either answered quickly, or searched for the answers to any questions we had. Due to our narrow parameters and the overall buying challenges which exist these days, Scott and Marlene did a lot of extra legwork for us along the way and were very patient, even sometimes when we were not. Scott and Marlene were very knowledgeable about Oakland the the East Bay in general and were consummate professionals every step of the way. The end result was that we found many great options, but ended up buying the very best home we saw during our months-long search. Scott fought hard for us with the seller and selling agent to be sure we got the house we wanted. We would recommend the Leverettes to any buyer or seller who wants to be treated well and needs attention to detail. Good luck in your search!

– Jennifer and Shane

I recently worked with Scott to sell my house in Oakland and he was such a pleasure to work with from start to close. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and market and is very conscientious about handling his clients with care. He offered incredible support during the transition and went above and beyond to make sure I had all that I needed throughout the entire process. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. He is truly top notch!

– Noelle Van Vlierbergen

My wife and I were referred to Scott through my sister-in-law. We were in a situation where we had a deadline, and as first time home buyers, somewhat apprehensive given the competitive sellers market in the Bay Area. Scott navigated us through with skill and precision. He was quite generous with his time early on, getting to know us, taking us on personalized house tours each week until we started narrowing in on our priorities. Along the way, he taught us a lot about looking at the potential within a house - and visualizing possibilities that would never have occurred to me. (He has a lot of experience with upgrades/remodels). What was great about Scott is it was obvious he was looking to get us into the "right" house - not just any house. Several times we would walk in, and he would turn us around and get us right out if he saw things that we wouldn't even notice but signaled shoddy construction or funky design flaws. Finally, when we found what felt like a good fit, he was as patient as he could be while staying firm on getting us to make the right offer so we could actually get the house, which we did. We did have a few tense moments, as the market conditions pretty much demand that buyers be quick, decisive, and willing to step a bit out of their comfort zone to actually get the house. To his credit, he stuck with us even though we wavered a bit near the end, and we ended up happy that we made the right choice, both with Scott, and the house. Finally, after the title transferred, Scott took the time to go through the disclosures in detail, and personally recommend a handful vendors/contractors that he has used in the past to bring in to start the "fixing up" work that needs to be done. My only feedback to Scott would be to take a bit of extra time during the actual offer process to talk through the actual documents that need to be signed. We never really had the opportunity to do this, and in retrospect it would have made the offer process easier. A lot happens real fast these days, and it can be kind of spooky for first time buyers. But this is just a little thing, I would recommend Scott to anybody looking to purchase a home in the East Bay and would gladly work with him again in the future.

– Robert Fullop

I have lived in Oakland and the greater Bay Area since 1995, despite numerous adventurous detours to other American cities. Now, my wife and I are moving from Seattle back to Oakland after a 2-year working jaunt in the PacNW. This will be our THIRD time moving back to the Bay Area, and we decided that this time, we mean to STAY! We figured the best way to stay was to buy a house. We were first time buyers and the insanely competitive, complex and fizzy real estate market in the Bay was pretty intimidating for us, even though we know most of the neighborhoods. Scott has been an invaluable help in evaluating and understanding our needs as new homeowners. He steered us towards properties that he knew we actually had a shot at getting, given the invariable bidding wars that are happening right now near any BART accessible neighborhood in Oakland. His expertise at spotting places with "good bones" as opposed to cheaply renovated flip-jobs was amazing; Scott was just as good at telling us NOT to bid on certain homes as he was at getting us excited about the good ones. We eventually trusted his expertise and judgement enough to make a winning bid on a house in Temescal sight-unseen, except for a handful of interior videos that he shot and emailed to us. We are so happy to have worked with Scott through the evaluation and bidding process. As if this experience wasn't enough, now that we have purchased the home (a fixer-upper with quite a lot of upcoming work) Scott has been absolutely amazing in helping us organize contractors to work on floor refinishing, heating system replacement, cleaning, etc while we are still up in Seattle packing and getting ready to move. He has met contractors at the property numerous times for estimates and contract kickoffs making what would otherwise be nearly impossible (managing contract work from 1000 miles away) an absolute breeze. All this is combined with the fact that Scott is also a really cool guy to hang out with. We had a great time driving around Oakland with him during our first meetup, and we are psyched to move into our new house soon so that we can meet up with Scott for some cocktails in the very near future! Thanks for all the help, Scott, we couldn't have done this purchase and move without you! Highly recommended!

Scott was referred to us by a good friend whilst we were interviewing several agents to help us sell our fantastic one-of-a-kind Eco/green house. In fact, we were set on one when we interviewed Scott at the last minute. He came prepared and literally blew me away with his knowledge of our unique house and its net zero energy technology. Without a doubt, we chose Scott. Since then we went through many meetings, phone calls, emails and text messages, advises and assurances, Scott was very courteous, patient, accommodating and upbeat all the time despite some personal events. He had from Day 1 mapped out what we and himself needed to do to get our house ready, listed and sold. He recommended the work I should be taking care of to get the house in the best selling condition, reviewed and engaged all key personnel from stagers to photographers to cleaners. Throughout this adventure, we had only a few hiccups particularly with a stager who came in a s a replacement because our original one was not available. Lets just say the stager went WAY over the top and lucky for us Scott came by to see how things were (we have already moved back to NYC) and had the stagers took almost everything down and away. He understood the importance of the house's selling points- LEED Platinum certification, prefab, net zero energy and 'Green' features and NOT about the staging. He kept it modern, tasteful and simple. Come to think of it, I should review that staging company and give it a 1 star. We literal handed the keys of our house to Scott and began our next chapter of life back in NYC. Long story short, we not only have a great agent in Scott- the house was sold at more than 140% of its listing price, we met and made a good friend for life! Thank you Scott for helping us and for being a great friend. We hope the best for you and your lovely family!

Scott is the man! He helped me buy my first home and I couldn't have been more pleased with his work. His level of commitment, attentiveness, and expertise were extremely impressive. He always took my preferences into account, but showed me great houses that I might not have chosen on my own. Lastly, his strong connections to other realtors was a huge advantage. He is obviously very knowledgeable and knows how to find those deals. Every realtor says that, but with Scott it's true. Thanks Scott!

– Sara Durham

Scott helped my husband and I buy our first home. He really understood what we were looking for and stayed focused and persistent throughout the process. He took his time and looked at literally dozens of homes with us until we found the perfect one. Scott is incredibly knowledgeable about the local market and has a keen, sophisticated eye for quality and design. Scott has continued to be an invaluable resource for contractors as the inevitable repairs and renovations have come up. An easy 5 stars, I recommend him to anyone.

– Jennifer Nickel and David Blashke

As a first-time home buyer, I was extremely clueless and apprehensive about the process. I can't emphasize enough how great Scott has been throughout the entire experience. He really knows his stuff and went the extra mile (and then some!) to show me every place which fit my criteria. He was patient with my questions, extremely prompt in his correspondence, and very quickly made me feel trust in him - something that, from what I've heard, is extremely rare in this business. Highly and unequivocally recommended!

– Ted Choper

Hi Scott, I cant express the gratitude we have for all you've done for us. You were there for us from day one and were such a great help and encouragement. You went way above and beyond and took care of us and made us feel like family. You handled everything so professionally, expertly, and personally. My dad would have been so proud of you. Thank you for being there for us and helping us through a difficult time. We could not have done it without you. Lunch sounds great when time allows. Most sincerely, Michael

My wife and I ran into Scott randomly ten minutes after deciding to buy a home . We are first time buyers new to the area . Who , in Scott, found an east bay born and bred nuanced expert with detailed local knowledge and insight , taste and a sense of style . He advocated for us while negotiating and counseled and educated us patiently along the way . As I said we met him by chance and are happy we did so . We now consider him a friend . I write this from the kitchen of our new place . Go forth and prosper with Scott.
